Standing out as a Locksmith

It's not until I was researching the online competition for locksmiths that I realised just how many locksmiths there are in Brisbane. So how do you get one locksmith to stand out from the pack with their online presence.

After some further digging it became clearer that there was some online activity from other locksmith companies that goes against Google recommendations. It turns out that the locksmith industry has been tarnished somewhat by companies using what can only be described as dodgy online marketing tactics. That is also one of the reasons why it is increasingly difficult to get new map listings for locksmith businesses approved. However, that issue can wait for another blog.

When you do see companies using dodgy online tactics and seemingly slipping through Google's net, you might face the temptation to try and use similar tactics.I am a firm believer though that following Google's advised practices is certainly the better option for long term results.

For this particular campaign, 24 Seven Master Locksmiths wanted to optimise locksmith services with a focus on several geographic regions. As a new website the first step is to ensure that Google is indexing content how you would like to see it. Try not to be too concerned about the ranking of a new website in the first couple of months. The rankings for new websites can move up and down a fair bit. The important thing is to make sure you have good titles and descriptions so that when your site does show in rankings it gives people a reason to click through.

So in this case the long term goal will be high rankings for Brisbane Locksmith services. In a highly competitive industry though, that will take time. For shorter term results we will be aiming at 1st page rankings for search terms involving locksmiths Beaudesert, Jimboomba and surrounds. This can be a great tactic for you to use if you are in a highly competitive market. Try using surrounding areas, suburbs until you build your online profile a bit more and create some more depth for your website.

The other possiblity is to focus on more specific services such as Car Locksmith or Emergency locksmith . Plus, most industries will have a huge range of other terms to use. For example, in this industry it could involve locks, keys, safes, vaults, auto, and many other similar terms.

At the end of the day, you may want to put more effort on the competitive terms but until then you can always get some business through by standing out on more specific terms.

P.S. I predict that in time dodgy tactics will catch up with certain companies. Put in the hard work, follow the "rules" and you will start seeing results.
